The police have arraigned one Amen Omorenren (39) before an Edo State High Court over alleged theft and illegal possession of firearm in the state.
The suspect was on March 27, arrested with a locally made double barrel gun with live cartridges, without a valid license from the appropriate authority, an offence punishable under Section 3 (1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap R11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
The prosecutor told the court that the suspect was arraigned on a four-count charge bothering on conspiracy, illegal possession of firearm and theft.

The judge, Justice Williams Azeigbemhin, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case to April 18 for hearing.
