The police in Osun State on Tuesday arraigned one Abubarkar Sheriff (36) before an Ile-Ife magistrates’ court over theft of shoes, watches and other goods valued at N3 million.
The prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 23, around 1.am at Jaiyeola Shopping Complex, AP Junction, in Ile-Ife.
Insp Osanyintuyi said the defendant broke into the shop of one Ajueyisi Oluwatimilehin to commit felony and stole 34 pairs of Italian shoes; 144 pieces of watches; one 43-inch plasma television set and two watch stands, all valued at N3 million.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and his counsel, Mr M.I. Babatunde, pleaded for bail.
Magistrate A. A. Ayeni granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to August 12. NAN
