A 35-year-old woman, Adeola Bolarinwa, has been arraigned before a magistrate court in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, for allegedly failing to pay for goods she collected from a wholesaler.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akintunde Jacob, told the court that Bolarinwa committed the offence on February 2, 2019 in Osogbo.
Jacob said that the accused person took goods valued at N413,000 from one Laogun Omoyeni and promised to pay the money for the goods within two weeks.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant, however, failed to pay the money and thereby committed an offense contrary to and punishable under Section 419 of the Criminal Code 2002 of Osun State.
Bolarinwa pleaded not guilty to the charge and her counsel, Babajide Siyanbola, applied for her bail.
The defence counsel pleaded that his client was battling with some problems, which he said led to the default on paying.
Magistrate Opeyemi Badmus granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 and adjourned the case till March 31, 2020.
