The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of 118 suspects linked to various criminal activities across the state in April 2026, as part of intensified efforts to combat insecurity and maintain public safety.
Speaking during a press briefing yesterday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Tijani Fatai, said the command recorded major operational successes through intelligence-led policing, proactive raids, and strategic deployment of officers across flashpoints in the state.
He listed items recovered during the operations to include 11 locally fabricated Beretta pistols, one cut-to-size pistol, one English Beretta pistol, two handguns, nine telecom batteries, four cutlasses, one knife, 21 bags of suspected Indian hemp, charms, and other incriminating materials.
Fatai disclosed that on April 27, operatives arrested 58 suspects linked to street violence, traffic robbery, and harassment of motorists along the Lekki corridor.
“The suspects, identified as members of the notorious “Omotaku Boys,” were allegedly involved in phone snatching, intimidation of residents, and vandalism of vehicles”, he said.
Speaking further, he disclosed that in another major breakthrough, police operatives arrested two suspected kidnappers and murderers in the Ikorodu area of the state on April 27.
He identified the two suspects as Elijah Emmanuel, 23, and Anthony Ogunata, 21.
