No fewer than 12 people have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command over alleged kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.
The command also recovered one locally made cut-to-size gun from the suspects and a substance suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
DSP Bright Edafe, the command’s public relations officer made this known to newsmen in Asaba.
Bright gave the name of one of the arrested suspected kidnappers as Nyero Sunday, 29, of Okwitolo community.

He said the suspect, along with eight others arrested through technical intelligence, are all from Okpe Local Government Area of the Delta State.
He said further investigation led to the arrest of one Umar Bello (m), 33, from Sokoto State but a resident of Warri.
The command’s image maker explained that Bello usually buys stolen phones and other valuables from the robbers.
He added that a Toyota Corolla car No. WWR 353 LS, a locally made cut-to-size single barrel pistol, and 11 rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the syndicate.
