The Osun State Police Command has arrested two men, Aworinde Wale and Olayemi Abiodun, for allegedly killing a motorcyclist, Ojo Adeyeye in Osogbo, Osun State.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Wale Olokode, told Daily Trust that the suspects robbed Adeyeye at Oke-Osun area, shot him dead and stole his Bajaj motorcycle.

Olokode said: The two-man gang of armed robbers who specialise in robbing motorcyclists within Osogbo and its environs, dispossessed Ojo Adeyeye of his Bajaj motorcycle at Oke Osun area in Osogbo and shot him dead.”

When the case was reported to police, a team from the CP’s Prompt Response Unit (PRU) tracked the snatched motorcycle to Saki in Oyo State and recovered it from the second receiver, Ajibade Faruq, who was arrested with the robbed motorcycle.

Faruq said he bought the motorcycle from the first receiver, one Akeem,  for N140,000 in Ibadan.

The principal suspects, Aworinde confessed to the crime.

The CP said the suspects sold the motorcycle to Akeem at the sum of N80, 000 only and Akeem sold it to Faruk.

Olokode said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
