The Commissioner of Police in the state, Rasheed Akintunde, told Daily Trust over the weekend that the suspects who used a locally fabricated master key, were part of the gang that had been terrorising bank customers in Dutse.
The CP said the suspects were both residents of Gwale Local Government Area in Kano State. He said when investigation deepened, the suspects confessed to have stolen the motorcycle which belonged to one Surajo Mohammed of Madobi village in Dutse Local Government Area.
The CP said: “On July 3, 2017, police on patrol in Dutse Metropolis sighted and suspected two young men trying to zoom off on a motorcycle, a Lifan Bullet model, at the premises of GTBank. When the policemen questioned the young men, they confessed to have stolen the motorcycle.
“The suspects further confessed to have been responsible for the theft of some motorcycles around bank premises in Dutse. A master key was recovered from the suspects which they said belonged to their gang leader, one Saddam, a resident of Gwale Local Government Area in Kano State.
