Police arrest 2 over phone theft in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of stealing mobile phones from traders at Beirut phone market and reselling them.

According to the command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, traders at the market caught one of the suspects, Tasi’u Ibrahim, a resident of Sheka, when he was allegedly attempting to steal a phone in a shop. His accomplice managed to escape with the stolen phone.

Following police investigations, officers also arrested Abduljabbar Musa Sheka, who is suspected to be the buyer of the stolen phones.

Both suspects are currently under investigation and will be charged to court after investigations.

The police called on shop owners, who had experienced similar thefts, to report their cases.
