The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers over cases of robbery, kidnapping and theft as well as terrorizing residents of Tarmuwa and Bursali LGAs of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, confirmed the arrest to City & Crime in Damaturu.
He said two members of the suspected gang of seven were arrested for kidnapping two people at Monguno village in Tarmuwa LGA where they demanded a ransom of N30 million, which the victims’ relatives could not afford until they escaped from their den.
He said operatives from the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters trailed and apprehended two suspects and that efforts were on to arrest the fleeing members.
The PPRO said during investigation, the culprits confessed to the crime.
