Two suspects have been arrested by the police in Kaduna in connection with the killing of a student at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, last Friday.

The deceased, a 100-level student of Veterinary Medicine identified as Deborah, was said to have been robbed of two mobile phones before she was killed.

Daily Trust gathered that one suspect was arrested on Sunday and the other on Monday and that both are in police custody.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson for Kaduna Police Command, Mukhtar Aliyu, said one mobile phone had been recovered while they were still searching for the other. 

“We apprehended one suspect at PZ in Zaria with one mobile phone and after thorough questioning, he led us to the other suspect, unfortunately, by the time we got him, he had already sold the mobile phone to someone that buys stolen mobile phones.”

He noted that investigation had commenced to determine the reason why the suspects killed their victim after collecting the phones, adding that they would be charged to court after that.
