The police in Katsina State have arrested two suspected trans-border hemp smugglers.

They are Nura Inusa, 25, of Maimujiya, Niger Republic and Rabiu Ahmadu, 28, of Danbatta LGA of Kano State.

The command’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, said yesterday in a statement that the suspects were arrested on Monday by the Safer Highway Patrol team on routine checks along Kano-Daura-Republic of Niger road, based on a tip off.

He said 40 sealed parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from them.
