The police in Zamfara State have arrested 20 suspected armed bandits and recovered seven rifles at various locations.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Kenneth Ebrimson, who briefed journalists at the command’s headquarters in Gusau, said the armed bandits were mopped up by the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad in collaboration with the state command.
Ebrimson said, “The armed bandits were arrested using intelligence-led policing and very soon the suspects would be paraded before the general public, but their seven rifles seized are displayed for everyone to see.”
He said the command had commenced investigation and that that was why they would not disclose the identities of the suspects so as not to jeopardise the investigation.
“We are soliciting for useful information from members of the public which will go a long way in helping us to apprehend criminals,” he added.
