The Borno State Police Command has arrested 210 suspects and secured 86 convictions in a recent operation targeting heinous crimes and social vices across the state.

The crackdown, which focused on offences such as handset snatching, thuggery and youth gangsterism, also led to the significant recovery of illicit drugs and weapons.

The state Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, said the command would work closely with community members to restore law and order across the state.

Among the exhibits recovered during the operations were 58 sachets of tramadol, 175 pieces of exzol tablet, 130 D5 tablets, 395 wraps and one kilogramme of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The police also seized nine knives, 19 shisha pots and pipes, two customised antelope horns, 28 tablets of Ermo (a hard drug) and 10 bottles of syrup.
