The police in Imo State have arrested a 27-year-old woman with two newly-born babies. The woman, identified as Tina Timothy, who hails from Nsukka in Anambra State, was reportedly nabbed at Ngor Okpala, Imo state, in possession of the two new born  baby boys, and that she could not satisfactorily account for them.

The Imo State Police Commissioner, Dasuki Galadanchi, who confirmed the arrest, said it was effected following a tip-off by operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Command while on routine patrol on October 10.

He said upon thorough interrogation, the suspect made useful statement, confessing that she bought the two new born baby boys at Oghoko in Rivers State at the sum of N1.8 million.

Galadanchi added that one of the babies subsequently took ill and was taken to the Police Hospital for treatment, but died.

Galadanchi also confirmed the arrest of one Solomon Ohaegbulam over the alleged kidnap of one Ogechi Akuchie, 19, from Okwoba Umuachi Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA Imo State.
