Police in Kano have arrested three suspects allegedly specialized in stealing vehicles during odd hours in public places within the state metropolis.

The spokesman of the state police command, SP Magaji Musa Majia identified the suspects as Ibrahim Hamisu, Yusuf Musa and Imrana Sani Bala.

Majia described one of the suspects, Hamisu as “notorious car thief” who had been in the art of car theft for a long time.

He said Hamisu a resident of Mariri quarters who usually visits public places at odd hours to steal parked vehicles, was arrested and prosecuted severally over the same crime.

Majia said the suspect was earlier arrested in the month of June and charged to court for prosecution in connection with a car theft before he was re-arrested recently while committing the same crime at Eleganti night club along airport road.

“On 30/09/2018, he (Hamisu) was also arrested with Honda civic which he stole from a parking lot at the premises of Eleganti Night Club along Airport Road Kano.

“Two other car thieves Yusuf Musa and Imrana Sani Bala, all of Brigade quarters, Kano were also arrested at the same scene after having stolen Honda accord” the police spokesperson said.

He said the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution after investigation.

He therefore advised car owners in the state capital to avoid parking their vehicles at isolated places especially during odd hours.
