Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected robbers in the Idimu area of Lagos, recovering a Bajaj motorcycle and other incriminating exhibits during the operation.
The suspects were apprehended following a coordinated operation by police officers acting on credible intelligence about the activities of a robbery syndicate operating within the Idimu axis.
The three suspects were identified as Abdullahi Mustapha, 20 , Salisu Sannusi, 30, and Jamiu Sahidu, 26
Police sources disclosed that the suspects had been terrorising residents and dispossessing them of their belongings before their arrest.
Items recovered from the suspects include a Bajaj motorcycle believed to have been stolen, as well as other exhibits linked to their alleged criminal activities.
Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrest, saying that it was in line with the Command’s ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities across the State.
“In the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., operatives of the Command on routine patrol along Car Wash Bus-Stop by First Bank, in Idimu area of the State, intercepted three individuals on a motorcycle.
“A search on the suspects led to the recovery of a machete concealed in their clothing, army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, one power bank, suspected to have been unlawfully taken from the owners, some squeezed naira notes and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM, reportedly used for mobility in carrying out their criminal operations.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects have been involved in robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing the scene.
“They are currently in Police custody; efforts are ongoing to conclude investigations and ensure appropriate legal action is taken,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the State.
