The police in Zuba, Abuja, have arrested three members of the vigilante group in the area over the death of a suspect. The incident was said to have taken place  while they interrogated him.

Daily Trust Saturday learnt that the late Muazu Musa, a scrap items dealer, was lured to a lonely location along the Zuba-Gwagwalada highway, allegedly to sell some items to him.

A police source said five other members of the group, including their commander, were still at large.

A family member of the victim, Shehu Lawal, told our reporter that they organised a search party when they could not see their brother later in the day.

He said the matter was later reported to Zuba police division, with members of the vigilante group as prime suspects.

Meanwhile, police detectives at Zuba division were led by the suspects on Wednesday to a site where the victim was buried in a shallow grave.

It was learnt that his exhumed body was reburied at the nearby cemetery immediately after by the detectives did their job. Family members and colleagues conducted funeral rites.

Efforts to speak to the Zuba Divisional Police Officer, CSP Karim Lamido, was not successful as he was said not to be in office when our reporter visited.  His telephone number was also not going through.
