The Kogi State Police Command has arrested three suspects with a locally made pistol and 208 live ammunitions and cartridges. 

The command’s spokesman, William Aya, who paraded the suspects yesterday in Lokoja, said they were arrested on May 14. He gave their names as Isaac Shuaibu, Abu Isa and Abu Abdullahi.

He said the command’s patrol team on a stop and search operation at Gegu, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, intercepted the duo of Shuaibu of Obajana and Isa of Kwaita in Kwali area council of the FCT, who were both riding on a motorcycle. 

Aya said in the course of the search, the team found in their possession, 108 rounds of live cartridges and another 100 rounds of rifle ammunitions. 

He said various charms were also found in possession of the suspects. 

Aya said the command also arrested Abdullahi of Kakashi in Abaji area council of the FCT with a locally made pistol and charms. 

He said on interrogation, Abdullahi said he obtained the pistols and charms to protect himself and community against attacks. 

Aya said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded.
