The police in Kebbi State have arrested four suspected kidnappers of a Fulani leader in the state. The suspects were said to have abducted one Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Dikko in Koko area of the state and demanded N3 million as ransom from his family. 

The suspects, whose names were given as Mohammadu Many aka Amadu, Muhammadu Muhammad, Umar Mohammadu and Abdulkarim Isiya, were said to have been paid N800,000 by the victim’s family before they were arrested. 

It was also gathered that the suspects had earlier kidnapped and collected N500,000 from another victim, whose name was given as Abdullahi in the area. 

The command’s spokesman, DSP Mustapha Suleiman, who confirmed the incident said the suspected kidnappers were apprehended by police patrol team along Koko road while trying to escape from Koko to Zuru area of the state. 

He added that the police had retrieved the ransom they collected on their victims and that they would be charged to court after police investigation.
