The police in Ogun State have arrested four notorious armed robbers who specialise in snatching motorcycles.
The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Wednesday told newsmen that the suspects, Muhammad Adamu (20), Okacha Alidu (22), Yusuf Mohammed (28) and Muniru Sunmaila (20), were arrested following a distress call received at the Ajuwon Police Division that they were operating and had attacked one Sunday Doile at Onibudo area of Akute and snatched his Bajaj motorcycle.

He said upon the distress call, the DPO of Ajuwon, SP Andrew Akinseye, mobilised his patrol team and moved to the scene.
He explained that, “On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums who were about six in number took to different directions, while one of them escaped with the snatched motorcycle. Others were hotly chased and four among them were apprehended.
“On interrogation, they confessed being members of the syndicate responsible for various cases of motorcycle snatching in Ajuwon and its environs.
“They confessed further that their mode of operation is to use a motorcycle belonging to one of them to cross the one they want to snatch. They will then show their gun to the victim and order him to surrender his motorcycle.
“According to them, any of their victims who struggled with them would be hit on the head with an iron rod and the motorcycle taken away while the owner was unconscious. They claimed to have killed one of their victims in the process.”
He said two locally made pistols, one iron rod, one cutlass, one live cartridge, three expended cartridges and charms were recovered from the suspects.
