Police arrest 4 rustlers, recover 3 guns, 370 cows

Four suspected cattle rustlers have been arrested by the police in collaboration with vigilante groups in Katsina.

Those arrested are Shuaibu Iliya, 28, Sani Abubakar, 25, Abubakar Hussaini alias ‘Kiri, 25, and Sada Alti, 20.

Police spokesman DSP Gambo Isah, in a statement, said the rustlers were arrested following mop up operations held at Sabuwa, Safana, Batsari and Danmusa local governments.

Isah said two AK-47 rifles and one pump action gun as well as 370 cows and 24 sheep were recovered from the suspects.

He added that “the command is working round the clock to ensure discreet and thorough investigation of all suspects arrested.  Efforts are also being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover their operational arms,” he added.
