Police arrest 45 kidnap, robbery suspects in Kaduna

The police in Kaduna State have paraded 45 kidnap, armed robbery, cattle rustling suspects that have allegedly been terrorising the highways and residents of the state.

The command also said it recovered guns, assault rifles, locally made pistols, ammunition and stolen vehicles from the suspects.

‎Parading the suspects at the command headquarters, the State Commissioner of Police, Ali Aji Janga, said the success recorded was based on the continued onslaught to rid the state of violent crimes.

The CP said most of the suspects confessed to being part of those terrorising the highways and the kidnapp of Sheikh Ahmad Algarkawi which led to the killing of three operatives of the IGP’s Intelligent Response Team (IRT) in 2018 and the recent kidnapping of ABU students and Hon. Suleiman Dabo in the state.

“Our continued onslaught to rid the command of violent crimes within the last few weeks has once again yielded fruitful result with the arrest of 45 suspects of various criminal activities such as kidnapping, armed banditry, cattle rustling, rape, culpable homicide, theft and receiving stolen properties.

“In compliance with IGP’s directives, the command decided to take the fight to the bandit’s camps. This led to the recovery of 20 AK47 rifles, one type 06 assault rifle, three Berretta pistols, three locally made pistols, 135 live ammunition, four motor vehicles, one tricycle, and many other exhibits,” he said.
