Men of the Osun State Police Command have arrested five suspects for allegedly killing four persons at Alape village in Modakeke community.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Wale Olokode, gave the names of the suspects as Akingbala Olakunle, Owoniyi Segun, Daramola Muideen, Shina Adeyemi and Awotinde Elijah.
The police chief said the victims were Oladele Ismaila, Oladele Afeez, Taye Animashaun and one Shina.
He said items recovered from the suspects included one double barrel gun, five live cartridges, one knife, one cutlass and one axe.
He said “This unwarranted and barbaric murder provoked the Modakeke indigenes and they decided to take revenge on the indigenes of Ife.”
Olokode said other suspects were arrested by the police in connection with the crime and that they are undergoing investigation to ascertain the degree of their involvement in the case.
