Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested five suspects for their alleged involvement in cultism.
The suspects—identified as Frank Etiyemon (36), Chinedu Emeka (25), Festus Nwadiche (26), Azuju Onowu (29), and Ozor Blessing (29)—were apprehended at a cultists’ hideout in the Amai community of Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the arrests were made on January 22, 2026, by a team of police operatives from the Obiaruku division during a targeted raid on a suspected hideout in the area.
Edafe further disclosed that a search of the premises led to the recovery of one locally made pistol, two battle axes, quantities of Indian hemp, and other suspected hard drugs, along with various dangerous weapons.

He said the suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue.
