Operatives of the Delta State command have arrested five suspected kidnappers terrorizing Ogwash-Ukwu, Obulu-Okiti, Isele-Ukwu, Isele-Asagba in Delta State.
The police recovered N5 million, alleged share belonging to one of the suspects, Sanusi Abdulahi, from the ransom collected from a kidnapped victim.
The command spokesperson, Bright Edafe said the command’s special anti-kidnapping and cyber crime squad trailed the suspected kidnappers terrorising Delta State to their hideout in Ogwashi Ukwu and arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as Sanusi Abdulahi.
He said the suspect was arrested in possession of N5m, which was part of the alleged ransom they collected from one of their victims.
Bright said the suspect led the operatives to their hideout at Second Deputy, and Oko in Asaba, where four other members of his gang were arrested.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that they were allegedly responsible for the series of kidnappings at Ibusa, Ogwashi-Ukwu, Obulu-Okiti, Isele-Ukwu, Isele-Asagba as well as the recent kidnapping of a young lady at Ogwashi-Ukwu.
He said an investigation is ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court.
