Five robbery suspects, who allegedly wanted to hide under the cover of the ongoing EndSARS protest to rob people in traffic, have been arrested.
The suspects, Olasunkami Oyewole, Quadri Lawal, Abraham Olateju, Tunde Bello and Olagoke Adewole, were arrested at Ketu area of Lagos.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, who made this known, on Tuesday, said the command has set machineries in motion to go after the traffic robbers who harass and rob innocent Lagosians in traffic.
He said the five suspected robbers were nabbed by police operatives attached to Ketu Division after they robbed two men at Ketu end of the Lagos/Ibadan expressway.
Odumosu, who also used the opportunity to address some officers at the command headquarters, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, in preparation for police operational activities during the ember months, charged them to go after criminals and not innocent young Nigerians.
He told the officers to brace up and provide adequate security for all and sundry despite the ongoing protests across the state.
