The police in Katsina State have arrested 50 suspects and recovered various weapons; including four AK 47 rifles, eight locally made guns ammunition.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, at his maiden press conference, said the arrests were between January and February this year.

He said most of those arrested were involved in armed robbery, banditry and kidnapping. 

Wakili added that the successes recorded were as a result of synergy that existed between the security stakeholders and cooperation of good citizens.

He said investigations were at various stages and that as soon as they were concluded the suspects would be charged to court.
