The Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has arrested 54 persons suspected to be cultists, adding that some of them have confessed to the crime.
In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Uyo, 31 cultists were arrested in Ibesikpo Asutan, 16 in Oruk Anam, and seven in Etinan local government areas (LGAs).

He also revealed that a student of West Itam Secondary School, David Okon, who stabbed and killed one Solomon Bassey, of the same School in a cult related SS2 and SS3 fight had been arrested.
