The police in Benue State, yesterday, said seven people were arrested in connection with election violence during the governorship and House of Assembly polls in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Catherine Anene, said four of the suspects were arrested at Wurukum in Makurdi while the other three were nabbed in Logo Local Government Area of the state.
She said the three people arrested in Logo were in connection with snatching of ballot boxes while the four apprehended in Wurukum disguised themselves as political party agents to disrupt the exercise.
The police spokesperson added that further investigation was being carried out about the violent involvement of the seven suspects in the just concluded polls in the state after which they would be charged to court.
