The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement, saying the incident was reported on May 15 by the victim’s 40-year-old father, a resident of Magama Gumau.
“He reported that earlier the same day at about 1600hrs, one Hamza Yahaya, 70, of the same address, lured the minor to his hideout within the area and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her,” the statement said.
He explained that upon receipt of the complaint, detectives attached to the Toro Division immediately mobilised to the scene and arrested the suspect.
