Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested eight suspected fraudsters who allegedly defrauded victims of N23.5 million.
The suspects are Ibrukoko (32), Obruche Actor (31), Lucky Umukoro (28), Emmanuel Buruutu (22), Musa Abdulahi (27), Sokoh (30), Preye Julius (36), and Kadija Abass (30). They reportedly operated in Ughelli and Warri in Delta State, as well as in parts of Edo State.
According to police, the suspects specialized in stealing phones and other valuables from victims, which they then used to steal money from their bank accounts.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright, said the suspects were arrested in the Warri and Ughelli areas of the state following an intelligence report on their activities.

- Increment: FG should harmonise workers’ salaries – NLC
He described the group as a syndicate of robbers and fraudsters who specialize in robbing unsuspecting victims of valuable items such as phones, motorcycles, and jewelry before looting their bank accounts.
Bright said the suspects often pretended to be looking for directions, then hypnotized their victims before extorting and defrauding them.
