Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested an ex-convict, Buhari Deyegu, and one other person, Precious Okoro, over alleged stolen property.

The suspects were arrested by the Eagle-Net Special Squad Asaba of the command in collaboration with the Nigeria Hunters Security Services (NHSS), while on a visibility patrol.

The command’s spokesperson, Edafe Bright, said the suspects were arrested following a report of a missing motorcycle received by the police.

Following the report, the police and the hunters on patrol arrested Precious Okoro of ULO Street, Asaba, and Buhari Deyegu of Ibusa Road, Asaba, and the missing motorcycle was recovered.

According to him, one of the suspects is an ex-convict who was released from Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Facility on August 6, 2025, after completing his two-year jail term for a similar offence of stealing a motorcycle.

“The suspect went back to steal another motorcycle just five days after returning from prison,” he stated.

He said that during an investigation and the execution of a search warrant on the suspect’s residence, one Tiger generator, one big fireman generator, and one iron measuring scale were recovered.
