The Police Command in Adamawa State on Thursday said it has rescued two kidnap victims and arrested one suspect during a coordinated security operation in Song Local Government Area (LGA).
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued in Yola.
He noted that the feat was part of an ongoing decisive operation aimed at combating kidnapping and enhancing public safety.
“The Adamawa Police Command has successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested one suspected kidnapper following their abduction at Gwewan Village, Dumne, in Song LGA,” Nguroje stated. (NAN)
He added, “The success was primarily due to the strategic deployment of combined security assets by the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo. This led to a joint operation comprising police operatives and members of local security outfits. The team carried out a coordinated raid on a suspected kidnappers’ hideout located at Suktu Mountain on Feb. 11.”
The PPRO explained that upon sighting the security team, the suspects engaged the operatives in a gun duel but were forced to flee with possible gunshot injuries. They abandoned two victims—identified as Rabe Mamman Sani (18) and Aminu Mamman Sani (16)—who were rescued unhurt.
Nguroje said that during the operation, a 22-year-old suspect from Salasa Village, Dumne, was arrested and has since confessed to his involvement in the crime. (NAN)
