Police arrest kidnapping suspects, recover AK-47 rifle in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers: Elvis Ebroghro (36), Abiola Adegore (34), and Lucky Ebroghro, all residents of the Ometan community.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the suspects were arrested following an intelligence report.

The police, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Ekpan Division, CSP Labe Joseph, located and apprehended the individuals.

Edafe said preliminary findings indicate that on September 11, 2025, a community security guard, Abdullahi Mohammed, saw two of the suspects attempting to steal a vehicle battery. When he challenged them, the suspects allegedly threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police.

Edafe stated that Elvis Ebroghro’s confession led to the arrest of another key suspect, Lucky Ebroghro.

During a follow-up operation, one AK-47 rifle was recovered after it was found concealed inside an isolated building within the Ometan community.

The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court.
