Suspected criminals being paraded by the police in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State

The police in Bayelsa State have arrested one Peter Joshua in connection with the killing of two National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members at Swali community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

The corps members were allegedly killed by the suspect, and others still at large, on March 20.

“Six gunmen invaded the residence of one Oluwatobi Papoola Olakunle and George Onokpoma, who were corps members serving at Izi-Victory International School, Swali community, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. They shot and killed the corps members and stole some items from their residence which included an Infinix X601 phone belonging to Popoola Oluwatobi,” the commissioner of police in the state, Uche Anozia, said while parading the suspect along with others arrested in the state.

He said police investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Peter, a native of Kabba, Kogi State, adding that the said Infinix phone belonging to Oluwatobi was recovered from them.

The CP also paraded 14 suspects for armed robbery, 10 others in connection to cultism and five suspected kidnappers.

He said the command will continue to utilize the operations of the special out-fit code-named ‘Operation Puff Adder’ to make Bayelsa State safe for the residents.
