The police in Osun State say they have arrested a 22-year-old man, Mustafa Adewale, for allegedly raping a 3-year-old baby.
The command said the mother of the baby reported the incident to the police.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, said the incident occurred at Garage Olode in Ife South LGA of Osun State.
She said the mother of the baby went out at about 11:40am and left her little daughter under the care of her neighbour, one Mustafa Adewale.
‘’But before the woman retuned home at 3:20pm, Adewale had raped the little baby.

‘’The suspect, who confessed to the crime, blames devil for his action. He said he bought biscuits for the baby and then raped her after she ate the biscuit.’’
The PPRO said the little girl is responding to treatment at a hospital, where the police took her to for medical examination and treatment.
She said the suspect had been arrested and would be charged to court after investigation.
