A suspected kidnapper, Abiodun Joseph, 28, who demanded a ransom payment of N300,000 for the release of two children abducted in Ogun has been arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The two abductees, Tobiloba Aleshinloye, 12, and Yusuf Kudus, 8, were allegedly abducted by Joseph on September 15 and a ransom of N150,000 per child was demanded from the parents, Daily Trust gathered.

The Ogun State Police Command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a release on Wednesday said shortly after the incident, the case was reported to the police at Agbara Division and detectives were detailed to be on the trail of the kidnapper.

“Technical investigation was conducted and the hideout of the suspect was located in a hotel at Ojoo area of Ibadan and the place was stormed by detectives where the suspect was arrested and the victims rescued unhurt. “The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-kidnapping/Cultist Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. The children have been re-united with their parents.

“The CP also appealed to members of the public to take the security of their children seriously in order not to make them victims of kidnappers,” said.
