The police have arrested one suspected cultist identified as Aiveihenyo Anderson (46) for allegedly being in possession of firearms in Edo State.
The suspect, it was learnt, was arrested at the Ologbo community in Ikpoba Oredo LGA of Edo State.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspect was arrested while acting on credible information that one notorious cultist within the Ologbo community was heading to the Okabere community to carry out notorious activities. He said the police operatives swung into action and intercepted one unregistered Mercedes Benz driven by one Aiveihenyo Anderson on the road.
According to him, during a search, one pump action gun, one English made double barrel gun of 201 lives cartridges, one battle axes, two cut to size gun, one jack knife were found in his car.
He said the suspect would be charged to court soon.
