The police have arrested a 28-year-old man in possession of a gun during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Ikotun area of Lagos State.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, wrote on her X handle, @AbimbolaShotayo: “The suspect was apprehended at 11am on Tuesday by operatives of the command while they were carrying out routine security checks in the area. A locally made pistol was recovered from him at the point of arrest.”
She said preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was returning from a criminal operation and was heading towards Ayobo when he was intercepted by the police. (NAN)
