The police in Niger State have arrested the 45-year-old Ward Head of Sabon-Danduru, Paiko, Paikoro LGA, Hussaini Mohammed, for allegedly buying and selling stolen motorcycles.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who paraded the suspect, said that the suspect and two others, Isah Umar (20) and Hussani Ibrahim (25), were arrested based on reports about their activities.
Abiodun explained that Ibrahim, who was nabbed for allegedly stealing two Jincheng motorcycles in the Tudun-Fulani area of Minna led a police team to effect the arrest of Umar who aided the theft of the motorcycles, while the ward head was later arrested for buying the motorcycles.
Abiodun said, “During interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crime and claimed that they stole about four motorcycles with one Nafiu, presently at large, and gave them to one Junaidu, also at large, who sold them to the Ward Head, Hussaini Mohammed.”

He said the suspects further confessed that the motorcycles were sold between N150,000 and N200,000 to the ward head.
He added that 26 motorcycle number plates and one fuel tank were recovered from the ward head, noting that he confessed to buying and selling of the stolen motorcycles.
