Operatives of the Delta State police command have arrested three suspects, Lucky Oghenerobor (37), Olamide Fagbaibe (24) and Umeh Akpan (37) for allegedly dispossessing passengers of their belongings in the state.
The police said the suspects were members of a syndicate that specialized in robbing unsuspecting passengers who board commercial tricycles.
The police spokesman in the state, Edafe Bright, said the operatives, while acting on credible intelligence, stormed Agbarho town and arrested one Lucky Oghenerobor, who is the leader and owner of their operational tricycle.
He added that the two other suspects were also arrested within Ughelli town.
He said the suspects confessed that they usually operate in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and environs.
According to him, the police recovered 16 different kinds of phones suspected to have been stolen by the suspect.
He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigations are completed.
