Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a member of Odu’a Peopls Congress (OPC), Christian Okagbare (31) over attempted murder of one Osaigbovo Charles and Iyare Stanley in Edo State.
The suspect was alleged to have committed the offence at Iyanomo community in Ikpoba Okha LGA.
The state Commissioner of Police, Nemi Edwin-Iwo, said Osaigbovo Charles and Iyare Stanley, both of Iyanomo community by Rubber research, Benin-City, reported at the station with various degrees of injuries all over their bodies.
He said, “They reported that some OPC members from same community fired shots at them, which resulted to the injuries sustained without any provocation.
He said the victims were rushed to the hospital where they were admitted, treated and discharged.
According to him, investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping unit of the command led to the arrest of Christian Okagbare.
“He confessed to the crime and took the operatives to the spot where he buried the firearm, he used in committing the offence,’’ he said.
