Police Arrest Robbery Suspects, Recover Rifles in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered firearms in a series of operations in Lafia, the State capital.

According to SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, the suspects, identified as Kabiru Isah and Monday Bulus, who had been on the police wanted list, were caught on January 10, 2026, while planning a robbery in Lafia.

He said A G3 rifle without serial number and a pump-action rifle were recovered from them.

“During the operation, one G3 rifle without serial number was recovered from the suspects as exhibit. A follow-up operation conducted today, Sunday, 11/01/2026, also led to the recovery of one pump-action rifle.”

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had entered Lafia and were lurking around Azuba Centre, a suburb of Lafia LGA, in a bid to carry out a criminal operation, not knowing that they were already under the surveillance of the police before nemesis caught up with them.”

Commending the operatives for their work, the state commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, also ordered thorough investigation into the case to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
