Police have arrested suspected Sara-Suka thugs that are terrorising residents of Bauchi state.

The state Police command’s spokesperson, DSP Kamal Datti, in a statement disclosed that the arrest was part of an ongoing operation to checkmate the activities of Sara-Suka and political thugs in the state.

He stated that the Command arrested the suspects in connection with cases of criminal conspiracy, thuggery and mischief.

According to the statement, the suspects arrested include; Hamza Abdullahi a.k.a. Mando; the gang leader, Tijjani Dahiru; Abba Abdullahi a.k.a. Dogon Yaro and Musiliu Idris.

Others include; Ibrahim Musa, Bashir Abubakar, Abdulrahman Mohammed, Mukaila Mohammed, Ahmed Adam, and Umar Hassan a.k.a. Silli,  all of Bauchi metropolis.

Various exhibits have been recovered from the suspects during the operation which include: Five cutlasses, One long knife, Seven (7) packets of Tramadol capsules 225mg and assorted charms.

DSP Datti said that the case is under investigation after which the suspects will be charged to court as soon as possible.

"While the Command reiterates its commitment to protection of lives and property in the state, it called on members of the general public to cooperate and support the Police in the ongoing operation by giving useful information to ensure total crackdown on political thugs and other forms of thuggery in the state,” the statement added.
