…arraign woman over alleged N10m fraud

The police in Ogun Police, yesterday, disclosed the arrest of six suspects allegedly involved in the violence which marred the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally in Abeokuta about two weeks ago.

Suspected hoodlums reportedly hurled missiles at President Muhammadu Buhari and other top party officials during the rally held at MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, forcing the campaign to end abruptly.

However, barely two weeks after the incident, the police command said it had arrested the suspects who are currently facing prosecution at a magistrate court in the state.

The suspects, according to a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta by the command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, are Olaoye Tunde, 43;  Bashiru Alli, 40;  Ayoola Muyiwa, 50;  Yakubu Wahab, 28;  Opeyemi Omiyefa, 31 and Akeem Biliaminu, 38.

Oyeyemi said the incident “has been viewed with all seriousness, as any act of that nature under any guise will not be tolerated.”
