Police arrest suspected drug baron, recover illicit drugs in Delta
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a drug baron, identified as Egbule Isioma (52)for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs in Delta State.
The police also arrested three of her apprentices from her shop, identified as Mercy John, Favour John, and Amarachi Ngozi.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, Isioma is a major dealer in illicit drugs in Ughelli and its environs.
He said the police received credible intelligence about the activities of some people known for drug peddling in Afisere, Ughelli.
He said the police trailed and arrested the suspects, who operate a chemist store opposite the Afisere Town Hall, along with her three apprentices.
During a search warrant executed at the suspect’s house, the police recovered the following: 355 bottles of CSC Codeine, 57 rolls of 50mg Tramadol capsules, 335 rolls of 100mg Tramadol capsules, 33 rolls of 200mg Super Royal, seven backwoods, 540 sachets of Swinol capsules, and 16 cups of Canadian liquid cannabis.
He said further investigation revealed that the suspect is a major dealer in illicit drugs in Ughelli and its environs, adding that the suspect will be charged to court soon.
