The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected notorious drug dealers in coordinated operations across Dutse, Guri, Babura, Kanya Babba, Bulangu, and Yankwashi Local Government Areas.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed in a statement that operatives recovered 8,271 pieces of assorted illicit drugs, including Exol, D5, Tramadol, Diazepam and cannabis.
He added that the sum of N235,225.00, suspected to be proceeds from the sale of illicit substances, was also recovered.
According to him, the suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators in uncovering their supply network and other accomplices.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication to the ongoing fight against narcotics.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intensifying surveillance and enforcement operations aimed at achieving a drug-free Jigawa state.
