Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber, identified as Chinedu Eze, while he was attempting to sell a stolen Mercedes Benz GLK.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, stated that the suspect was arrested by officers from the B Division in Asaba, led by CSP Edewor Akponegware.

He said police received a credible tip about a stolen Mercedes Benz GLK, with registration number NZM 10 AP, being offered for sale at a parking lot on Former Deputy Road in Asaba.

Acting on the intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led operatives to the location to intercept the sale and arrest the suspect.

The suspect, who was selling the vehicle to an unsuspecting buyer, claimed to be the owner.

According to SP Edafe, a preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle had been registered twice—once in April 2023 and again in 2025.

This, he said, prompted the police to contact the first person who registered the vehicle.

It was then discovered that the car had been stolen at gunpoint in April 2023 in Abakpa, Enugu State, during which the rightful owner was shot by the armed robbers.
