Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered firearms in separate operations across the state.

The suspects, identified as Oghenemaro Festus and Prince Omanure, were reportedly apprehended in the Ekredjebor area of Ughelli and the Ghana area of Sapele, respectively.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said Festus was linked to a series of house-to-house robberies. During his arrest, police recovered one pump-action gun loaded with two live cartridges.

In a separate operation, Prince Omanure was arrested following numerous complaints from Sapele residents regarding serial robberies carried out by a motorcycle-riding syndicate.

Acting on this intelligence, police conducted a targeted operation in the Ghana area of Sapele, leading to his capture.

According to Edafe, Omanure led operatives to a bush along the Warri-Sapele Road, where a fabricated Beretta pistol loaded with eight rounds of live ammunition was recovered.

Edafe said investigations are currently ongoing to track and arrest other fleeing members of the robbery syndicates.
