The Jigawa State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against crime, arresting several suspects and recovering stolen items.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the command has intensified its operations to ensure the safety of residents and their property. Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, has praised the officers for their professionalism and dedication.
One of the most notable arrests was Yunusa Usman (22), who allegedly used a knife to rob two people of their phones in Hadejia Local Government Area. Police recovered a knife from Usman after a tip-off. One of the victims, Abdullahi Abubakar, sustained a stab wound on his right thigh during the attack.
In another incident in Dutse metropolis, two suspected motorcycle thieves, Muhammad Suleman (also known as Officer) and Sale Yahaya, were arrested while trying to snatch a Boxer motorcycle from a resident.
They confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The police also arrested one Ibrahim Isah and Abubakar Ahmad in Takur Site, Dutse Local Government Area.
The two were found with a stolen Samsung and a stolen Huawei phone.
In the Roni Division, police arrested one Musa Bala, a suspected motorcycle thief, and recovered a stolen red Boxer motorcycle with registration number AYE 315 VN. Bala was linked to a case of motorcycle theft in Santar Tsaye village, Roni Local Government Area.
In a separate operation, police patrol teams in Dutse metropolis intercepted and arrested one Aliyu Abba and Muhammad Inusa, suspected motorcycle thieves who were trying to escape to Kano State with a stolen black Hyungen motorcycle.
